Florida continues to see tens of thousands of children abused each year, with many of them dying in the process. And the state care system, despite changes, continues to fail them.
Why? Our current family planning systems prioritize population growth to expand our economies, rather than parental readiness through things like delay incentives. That’s wrong, and children will continue to be abused, with toddlers tortured over the span of weeks and in some cases to death, until we change course.
TAKE ACTION: Sen. Lauren Book has spoken out against child abuse. Contact her here and urge her to introduce Fair Start legislation in the state, including Fair Start protective orders and other aspects, like shifting tax credits to ensure parental readiness.
